Marc A. Sposato, an Associate at TBWD Law, focuses his law practice in the areas of Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation.

Prior to joining TBWD, Mr. Sposato served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard T. Sules, J.S.C., in the Essex County Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Part. During his clerkship, Marc gained unique and extensive experience in the area of criminal law, which he now uses in his criminal defense practice. Mr. Sposato represents clients in a variety of serious criminal matters, including, murder/homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, weapons possession, drug trafficking, drug possession, and domestic violence, in the State and Federal Courts. Marc also practices in the Municipal Courts, where he represents individuals who have received motor vehicle summonses, DWIs, and disorderly persons offenses. He also represents individuals seeking to obtain, or seeking defense from, temporary and final restraining orders. Mr. Sposato has participated in jury trials and has litigated numerous motions in State and Federal Courts.

As to his civil litigation practice, Mr. Sposato represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil matters. For the plaintiff’s side, Marc represents individuals who have been personally injured, whether the injury be from a car accident, at work, or from a slip and fall. Regarding his defense work, Marc represents both public and private individuals and entities accused of civil rights violations, claims of tortious conduct, and other general litigation matters.

Marc was named as a 2021 New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star, an honor of which only 2.5% of attorneys in New Jersey receive. Marc was also recognized as one of the 10 Best Attorneys Under 40 in the State of New Jersey by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys and as a Top 10 Criminal law Attorney by Attorney and Practice Magazine. Marc received the AVVO Clients’ Choice Award in 2020 and is distinguished as an AVVO Top Attorney.

Mr. Sposato received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, from Pace University. He was then awarded his Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. Marc is licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey, the State of New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
